Dad, I remember the last time you picked up the trowel, you were unsure but still had the idea. We had different ways of doing things but the result was always the same. As we look around Alcester and local villages we see signs of all your skilled workmanship over the years, I hope you will be looking down on me and guiding me when needed. Dad if you could read all the messages we have received since you closed your eyes I think you smile and shed a little tear, so on Dads behalf I would like to thank everyone for there kind words. Dad, if only you would have wrote a book about your knowledge of Alcester, but you didn’t, that wasn’t you was it, you were not the person to be on the front line but always there to do what was needed without taking the glory. Due to Covid there is a lot of people who cannot be in the church today so here are a few words they have said about you, Gentleman, Humble, Honest, Font of Knowledge, A great man, Caring, Lovely smile. A huge thanks must go to Stonebridge nursing home where Dad spent his final 14months, nothing was ever to much trouble for them, they became part of our family and Dad became part of there’s. Due to the circumstances we live in at present with Covid I took on the task of arranging Dads final goodbye which I was proud to do, I hope I have included everything that Mum, Alison and Karen have asked for. So I would like to thank you all for coming today, and Dad I hope that you are proud of what we done for your final goodbye. Love your Son Cliff
